And the winners are...

The voting has finished, and after a whopping 206 votes, the winners are Last Alarm, and NeoGaf the neogame. Congratulations to both submissions (thank you to everyone who voted for Last Alarm, as the idea is a long time labor of love for me :D), and thank you to everyone who submitted one sheets.

We were supposed to have a netmeeting this weekend to discuss the next step of the game. I will be at TGS from today until monday afternoon, so there will be no netmeeting this weekend.

Instead, if the team could choose a project lead for Neogaf the Neogame (seeing as I will be heading up Last Alarm), that would be excellent.

Once a project lead is decided upon, we will allocate teams at the next netmeeting, which is set to be the sunday after this one. Since I feel a voice meeting would be best (if possible), please try to dig out a microphone if you have one. If a voice meeting is not possible we will hold a regular IRC meeting.

In the meantime, just enjoy TGS, and I will see you all at the netmeeting next sunday!

Vote for great justice!

Voting has begun! Check this thread to find out how you can do your part.

We will pick the top two concepts as the first two gafgame projects. Remember, all those who vote for a winning concept will be automatically allocated to that team (unless they ask otherwise). All those who did not vote for a winning concept will have a chance to PM shuteye or myself with which team they would like to be allocated to.

When the projects have been decided on, we will post here with a team listing for each of the projects.

Voting ends on September 20th, 2006, standard PST.

Good luck everyone!

....and that's the bell!

The submission deadline for one-sheet concepts has come and gone. Shuteye and myself are now trying our best to figure out the best way to hold the voting. The current idea is to list all the concepts in a blog post, and use the comment system to vote.

If we do this, we may have to set commenting to registered members only, to avoid foul play of any sort. If you guys have any problems with this method, please comment in the comments section of this post.

Anyone with different voting method ideas, please also comment in this blog post.

Thanks!

GAF...THE GAME!

Hey guys, This is TheTrin from GAF. As the project lead on the GAF game project, I decided it prudent to create this "developer blog" of sorts to track our progress.

This space will be used for all gaffers that are part of the collaborative GAF game project that uses the XNA architecture. Since we are all in disparate time zones, I have created this blog as a "one stop shop" for team members to know how progress on the project is currently going. Concept art, progress reports, as well as meeting minutes will be posted here for those unable to attend.

We are currently in one-sheet selection phase. The current due dates are as follows:

September 10th: One-sheet submission.
September 14th: Concept vote

After the concept vote is complete, we will likely pick the two highest voted concepts. Those who voted for the winning concepts will be automatically allocated to the team that they voted for. Remaining team members will have a chance to reallocate to a project of their choice. The due date for allocation is tentative, and is highly dependent on how smoothly the vote goes.

For those still looking to submit a one-sheet and need some help, please go here for submission guidelines.

For those curious where meetings are held, we currently have a permanent IRC channel on irc.opa-ages.com. The channel name is #gafgame. Go ahead and idle there, as that is where the majority of our discussions do, and will take place.
